Rovinghorse Henna is located in Portland, Oregon and is available throughout the Pacific Northwest for private appointments and events.

What kinds of events are great with Henna?

Bridal events: Showers, Sangeet and Bachelor-ette parties; Baby Showers and Blessingways and Post Partum celebrations ; Rites of Passage events, Bat Mitzvahs, Vision Quest; Prom, Senior Night and Graduations; Religious and Cultural Festivals, Pow Wows, Community Fairs, Renaissance Faires, Corporate events and Fund Raisers.

Pricing:

Henna can be purchased by the design, as at a fair or art show, and the prices run from $3.00 for a small, penny sized design, up to $80.00 for a large (full arm, back, belly or full leg) design. At parties and events, we prefer to work at an hourly rate or flat rate. Rovinghorse Henna also offers handmade gift cards in any amount.

Hourly rates are as follows:

Private appointments with up to 3 people $60.00/hr

For Parties with 3 to 20 people getting small designs (simple mandala or strip designs): $75.00/hr. with a two hour minimum.

For Parties with 21-50 people getting small designs (simple mandala or strip designs): $85.00/hr. with a two hour minimum

For very large events with more than 50 people getting small designs OR small groups getting elaborate work done: $100.00/hr. with a two hour minimum

for the bride- (pricing based on $80.00/hour) $250.00-$350.00 USD for full hands and feet

-for the bridal shower- the Sangeet- the Wedding Party-

$15.00 for 2 hands (one side) or $60.00/hour per artist.

(for Arabic, Indo Arabic, partial designs that will not surpass the bride’s designs)

For Prenatal events with Mom to Be henna and henna for up to 20 guests $85.00/hr. with a two hour minimum.

For events that are more than 20 miles outside of Portland city limits, travel time is $30.00 each way.

For Bridal events, Corporate events and Very Large Parties, we DO request a deposit of $50.00 to secure your date. This deposit is fully refundable with cancellation up to 14 days prior to the event.

Workshops:

Rovinghorse Henna is proud to offer a wide range of classes and workshops for people of all ages and skill levels.

Groups who have enjoyed Henna Art and Culture workshops include:
Students of all ages, world cultures classrooms, women’s studies groups, interfaith alliances, library children’s and adult’s classes, community, after school and seniors program, small groups, an those who seek one on one instruction.

Rovinghorse Henna is dedicated to teaching the history, cultures, technique and art of henna and other natural skin and textile dyes. We also offer occasional how-to classes for henna body art, apprenticeships, and instruction classes for henna on drums, wood and textiles.
