About Roving Horse Henna

style, skill, quality, knowledge

At Roving Horse Henna our team takes pride in providing you with exceptional henna application, design, and professional service. Whether it is for an individual appointment, a small party, or a large event we guarantee that our service will be friendly, courteous and fast. We can create elaborate or simple set-ups for your event and our presentation and transitions are seamless and unobtrusive. We are extremely conscious about working within time limits and design boundaries, and we understand and are respectful of our clients' budget concerns. It is our goal to provide you with the best henna experience possible and have organized every aspect of the process of working with you so that you can relax and enjoy beautiful adornment for yourself and your guests.

It is important to us that we offer professional skill and service, as well as beautiful and original artwork to clients, but our commitment to the art of henna doesn't end there. We work only with our own hand-crafted henna paste, made with meticulously sourced ingredients so that we can guarantee that you get gorgeous color and long lasting stains with no additives or dangerous chemicals. We craft our henna to be silky smooth and beautifully fragrant and we make it in small batches so it is always fresh. Our fresh henna paste is available for sale in 1oz cones and in 8oz bulk size on our shop page.

Finally, a word about the history, culture, and traditions of henna. Henna has a history of use as a body adornment over thousands of years. Henna use spans continents, religions, cultures and traditions. At Roving Horse Henna it is important to us that all of our artists understand the traditions and practices belonging to henna using cultures. Our goal is cultural appreciation and we have made it a priority to be as educated about multicultural henna studies and practices as possible. Our great joy is sharing the connection that henna brings to people. We are excited to learn your henna stories and share what we know with you.

about our team

Wendy Rover

Wendy Rover

Wendy is the owner and principal artist at Roving Horse Henna. She is widely known for her pioneering work in western fusion design. She is able to create exquisite henna work in modern and traditional styles incorporating classic motifs and new trends to provide you with the henna of your dreams. Wendy has been working with henna since 1993 and has made her living as a  professional henna artist since 2005. While the art of henna is the focus of  Wendy's business, it is sharing her knowledge and understanding of henna's long history and its traditional and cultural uses that is her passion. Wendy is honored to be able to share what she has learned in over 20 years of study about henna in her classes and workshops, and always has information or stories to share about henna's magic, meaning and history with clients. For Wendy, participating in the connection that henna forges between plant and person, past and present, between cultures, between one another, is the highlight of her work. It is a great honor for her to adorn her clients as they celebrate joy and special moments in their lives with henna.
